Ashley’s worst performance for sometime saw them deservedly lose to MV by 5 wickets in a match of only 60 overs. After a minutes silence was observed by both teams for Metrovicks player David Moore Ashley took first use of a sporting looking track but they progresses to 58 for 0 off 22 overs before an almighty collapse; they lost 10 wickets for 16 runs in only 14 overs. Asad’s first 4 overs cost him 9 runs for one wicket, his next 29 deliveries saw him pick up 5 for 2.

Barber dismissed Warner with the first ball of the 2^nd over but this brought Asad to the crease and he hit 6 boundaries as he took his side to 52 for 2 off 14 overs. 3 more wickets fell but Iqbal hit the winning run in the 17^th over.

The 3 bowling bonus points were all Ashley had to show and this saw them slip a place in the table behind Oakmere. Another professional performance from next week’s opponents Brooklands at home to Mere sees Ashley 48 points behind the top team.
