Ashley vs Stretford

Date:  25th April 2008

Venue: The Boundary, Lesley Road, Stretford

Toss won by: Stretford

Batted First:

Team Sponsor: CBG Ltd

Despite the 1st class players not being able to bowl a ball all day at Old Trafford, Ashley got a full game in at the pro’s near neighbours Stretford on Friday. With 5 new players new to the game they bowled and fielded well to restrict the home team to 100 off their 20 overs. Thomas Graham bowled two economical overs, and James Semple and George Paton both picked up a couple of wickets. Only two home batsmen got to double figures but the score was boosted by 25 extras, something the lads will have to work on at nets.

Alex Eaton top scored as the Ashley lads struggled against a talented team, batting in the gathering gloom and against the pacey McAuley. Holmes finished off the innings with 3 wickets, all stumped by the voluble Derbyshire.
