ASHLEY CRICKET CLUB

The Railway Field, Ashley Road, Ashley, Cheshire WA14 3QE

Welcome to Ashley

Ashley Cricket Club was founded in 1888, and is run as an inclusive club to offer competitive sport for players of all ability.  The club runs 4 senior teams and several junior teams from ages 9 to 15.  All the senior teams play within the Cheshire pyramid with the First and Second XIs currently in the Mellor Braggins League and the Third and Fourth XIs in the Cheshire League.

The club is committed to the development of young players, and players are encouraged to make the transition to senior cricket when the time is right.  They will become the players of the future in a safe, encouraging and fun environment.

New players...or old players looking to return to the game are encouraged to contact us and join our competitive and friendly club.  You will get a good welcome.

The website is a starting point for everything related to the club.  You can find all the fixtures for the current and the last few seasons.  After each game the captains vie with each other to see who can outdo the others by producing a match report that will enlighten and entertain in equal measures.  Averages and tables are updated as and when someone can be bothered to compile them, which normally will often coincide with a 50 or 5 wickets from the person responsible.

As well as this site Ashley maintains a group on Facebook.  Join this and you can take part in the lively debates or just enjoy the wit and and banter of your fellow club players and members.  Please remember, this is a family club and that young people will be reading our comments.  It is everyone's responsibility to protect the wonderful reputation of this club by ensuring that all discussion is appropriate.  The old message board has been closed down.

To keep our members informed of everything that is going on around the club, Ashley produce a regular newsletter with loads of interesting stuff.  You can view the latest one and ones from previous months and you can subscribe to recieve them via e-mail.

We are justifiably proud of our junior section at Ashley.  Over the last few years, due to the hard work of a few, the junior section has flourished and many young players have graduated to the senior teams.  Click on the juniors link at the top for how you can join or contribute to this vital part of the club.

Clubmark

Ashley are proud to have achieved Clubmark accreditation. This is a major landmark in our development and highlights the commitment of Ashley Cricket Club to being a part of the wider sporting community and a place where young players can play sport in a safe and enjoyable environment. Click on the clubmark logo for a bit more info.

Sponsors

Ashley are able to offer a range of sponsorship packages from match-ball to corporate ground hire. All packages include having your name and link on this web-site. For a small outlay, this will bring your organisation to the attention of hundreds of local cricketers across Cheshire. As the club relies on this revenue, you will be playing a vital role supporting cricket in the local area.  Contact us for a detailed description of the options.
